History of Baker

City of Baker // Our City // Transportation

An adequate transportation network and easy access to the entire metropolitan area contribute to Baker’s popularity as a great place to live and do business. In 1998 Capitol Transportation Corporation (CTC) began operating service in and through Baker, connecting the City with downtown Baton Rouge as well as Baton Rouge’s northern, southern and eastern communities. The City is also served by two major highways and several large arterials.

Baker maintains an identity as a place of natural beauty, where the business and residential communities coexist in a spirit of harmony and prosperity.
